The first summer school took place in early July 2017 (Marathon, Greece). The pilot teachers had the opportunity to test the STORIES platform, learn more about Mars with an analog astronaut, explore the consortiums approach on evaluating/assessing deeper learning ... It was also a very good opportunity get to know each other through warm up activities every morning. Many key elements were given to start the project in the classrooms in october.

On 18-20 January 2017 more then 20 staff members of the STORIES Consortium met at the University of Bayreuth for the kick-off meeting of the project.

On the first day the meeting began with a general introduction to the project, expected outcomes, demonstration of a preliminary prototype and an icebreaker activity to acquaint participants to each other.

The second and third day were devoted to planning and discussing partner responsibilities and goals in the projects’ various work packages. Some parallel sessions were organized to cover all the essential first-year work package responsibilities. In a joint session the work done in the separate groups was summarized and presented to all participants for discussion and commentary. On the final day the STORIES project plans were reviewed and project management and communication issues were discussed.
